"Jake was brilliant with working with our overseas rescue. He was very patient and understanding of his reactiveness and managed to get the best out of him. Would highly recommend, and would use in the future if we chose to adopt again."

"Highly recommended, Jake was wonderful!
We recently attended a puppy training session at Rags & Bertss with our dachshund, Koi, and it was such a wonderful experience! Jake helped us so much to better understand our dog — how to help him enjoy life while also becoming a well-behaved and disciplined pup.
You can really see how passionate Jake is about what he does; he works with so much patience, dedication, and genuine love for animals. We’re so grateful for everything we’ve learned and for how much progress Koi has made. Highly recommend Rags & Bert's and Jake to anyone who wants the best start for their puppy!"@Georgiana & Koi
"My dog Alfie has just completed the Steady Paws training programme and the experience has been excellent from start to finish. I’d especially like to highlight how fantastic Jake has been throughout the programme.
The training was tailored perfectly to help address Alfie's anxiety on the lead when he meets other (bigger) dogs and Jake has been so supportive and encouraging. In addition to demonstrating and explaining everything so clearly his patient and calm manner, combined with his natural ability around dogs has had a really positive impact on Alfie's responsiveness and overall behaviour.
I can’t recommend the training programme highly enough — it’s been an absolute game-changer for me and for Alfie."

"Henry had a history of lunging at anyone who put a hand towards his face. We realise this was a fear-based reaction due to a
couple of incidents when he was a puppy. He began to tell anyone to “go away” using this successful method. For us though, it meant we could not go on holidays with or without him. A previous kennel described him as “the worst dog they’d ever had” and they pushed his food to him with a broom as they were scared to enter his cage. Henry is a French Bulldog.
We contacted Rags & Bert’s and we were listened to. Henry was introduced to Jake who was so very calm. Henry reacted well and quickly passed the assessment to be with other dogs. He needed some further training before he passed the assessment to be with people. It was decided that all the staff would be made aware of his fear of hands near his face. Since then, Henry attends once a week and plays with the staff who all respect his fear. We have managed to leave him for a very happy weeks’ holiday in Rags and Bert’s Dog Hotel. He behaved very well, was happy and came home contented. He played with dogs every day and was happy to continue to attend weekly for his daycare.
What struck me most was the calmness of Jake, how he listened intently and did not see Henry as a “bad” dog but one who just did not know yet how to control his impulse. He, and all the staff, have made Henry feel secure.
I highly recommend the training and Rags & Bert’s as a very good place."
