The calm and nurturing environment of The Grooming Pod has proved to be a positive experience for dogs who suffer with anxiety and worry, we provide a safe space to introduce young puppies to the professional grooming process.
Bert’s Puppy Grooming Care Programme is a series of short sessions which will build puppies confidence, with lots of positive reinforcement and familiarisation of all the noises, smells and water itself in our dog grooming pod.
This will help puppies to grow to be happy and confident being groomed, setting them up so well for the future!
We highly recommend this course as no dog is born used to the dog grooming procedure, it should be no different to teaching your new puppy how to walk off a lead, sit, take instructions... just like we do with humans we are introducing them to these life skills and introducing your puppy to our grooming course will allow your dog to build confidence and trust us. We offer the following series of confidence building sessions designed for puppies over a 5-week period:
This session will last approximately 20 minutes and will allow your puppy to have a good sniff around, find some tasty treats, bond with our Head of Grooming so that your puppy can have his/her ears and eyes cleaned, be given a little trim, introduced to the brush and comb along with being introduced to the grooming table.
This session will last approximately 30 minutes and will include a face tidy, foot and bottom trim. This will help your pup get used to more equipment, this session will take them through some initial grooming basics.
This session will last approximately 30 minutes and will include bath and teeth equipment. At this session we will introduce more of the grooming pod equipment and all the noises associated with them, don't worry they won't get wet this time, this session is all about desensitizing their fear and making it a positive association for them. Included in this session is a bath, dryer, clippers, hygiene area trim and introduction to teeth cleaning.
This session will last approximately an hour. Now that your puppy has explored the grooming equipment and is quite comfortable with The Grooming Pod we now offer this session for your Puppy to be groomed by our Head of grooming with a bath, brush and dry.
Graduation day for your puppy! This session will last approximately 2 hours (90 minutes for short coats). Your Puppy is now ready for their first grown up proper groom, including bath, dry, styling haircut, nails, ears & eyes clean and lots of cuddles!
